Низкая чувствительность wi-fi адаптера intel Centrino N 130

OS Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.3 32-bit. Проблема в низкой чувствительности wi-fi адаптера Intel Centrino N 130. Пробовалось несколько дистрибутивов различной разрядности, начиная с различных версий Ubuntu, заканчивая Linux Mint 18.2. Результат везде один и тот же. В OS Windows на этом же ноутбуке чувствительность великолепная. В различных дистрибутивах Linux - низкая чувствительность, плюс - "плавающий" сигнал.

Какие шаги можно предпринять? Обновление ядра никаких изменений в качество работы адаптера не вносит.
